Understanding The Users
We started by acknowledging a simple truth: not everyone comes to health with the same intent or urgency.
As users’ needs change, the product naturally opens up more depth without forcing complexity upfront. This allowed us to support both everyday wellness and serious health management, all within a single, flexible system that grows with the user.
Challenges
The real challenge wasn’t access to health data, it was to turn a diagnosis into impact.
Users often know what they have, but they’re left alone to figure out what to do next. How should this change the way they eat, move, or live day to day? That gap between information and action is where most lifestyle change breaks down.
Wellytics was designed to bridge that gap. We focused on turning health data into clear, doable actions that fit into everyday life, helping users move from awareness to consistent lifestyle change without feeling overwhelmed.

Contrasting User Needs
Some users want full control over their health, others just want gentle guidance and we designed for both without making either feel out of place.
App specific considerations

Habit Building
Building health habits sounds simple, but in reality most people give up when overwhelmed. The challenge was to design an experience that encourages progress without pressure.

Humanizing Genetics
Non medical professionals find it difficult to interpret complex genetic information. So the main challenge was to help users understand the genetic report without aid.

Plug-and-Play Personalization
We started with one simple thought “Users don’t want to figure things out, they want things to work.”
So instead of designing screens that ask users to make choices, fill forms, or understand reports, we designed the product to do the thinking for them.
When a user connects their genetic test or medical record, the app quietly sets itself up in the background. There’s no “now choose your diet” or “pick a workout type.” The design is such that the right plan just show up, in less than 5 taps.
We were very intentional about reducing effort:
-
Fewer steps
-
Less reading
-
Almost no decisions for the user
In simple terms, we designed it like a good assistant.
Calendar-Based Medical Tracking
When it came to medical reports, we wanted to make browsing reports feel natural, hence we reached out to a physical medical file, and what we observed stuck an interesting thought.
Why not chronologically sort medical information? And that’s exactly what we did.
We designed a calendar view because that’s how people already remember their health. Not by file names, but by when something happened, like a test before surgery, a report after treatment, a follow-up a few months later.
This lets users see their health story unfold over time, not as scattered documents.

Interconnected Health Intelligence
Health data is only useful when it shows up at the right moment.
So we added info chips as a light layer on top of cards, small, clear signals that explain why something matters. Instead of asking users to dig into reports, the context appears right next to daily actions like meals, workouts, or reminders.
This helps users make better decisions in the moment, without slowing them down or overwhelming them.
Making Genetic Reports Human
Genetic reports are powerful, but they’re not written for everyday people.
So we went through these reports line by line to understand what actually matters. Then we translated those findings into clear, custom cards that surface only what’s relevant.
The result is that users don’t feel intimidated by their genetic data. They can understand it at a glance, trust it, and feel empowered when making everyday lifestyle choices.

Activity Tracking & Habit Building
We recognized that asking users to manually track activity creates friction and often breaks consistency over time. To support long-term engagement, we designed the experience around passive progress awareness.
By integrating seamlessly with wearable devices, activity tracking becomes an ambient part of the experience rather than a task.
