Understanding Autism
Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a neurological condition that affects how people interact with the world, especially in communication, social skills, and behavior. Since it’s a spectrum, each person with autism is different—some may need more support, while others may have unique strengths like in art or memory. Every individual experiences autism in their own way, making each journey unique. With early intervention, tailored support, and acceptance, individuals with autism can lead fulfilling lives and contribute in unique ways to society.
The personas: who was this platform built for?
This platform was built for two main personas: first, BCBAs and RBTs, the healthcare professionals who care for children with autism, and second, an administrator who oversees and manages the operations of an autism care center.
Challenges
The key challenges in designing the platform were:
1. Diverse User Personas: Balancing the needs of healthcare professionals, administrators, and caregivers while ensuring a simple, intuitive interface for all.
2. Complex Workflows: Managing complex tasks like therapy tracking, building treatment plans, scheduling and conducting sessions while maintaining an easy-to-navigate design.
3. Customization and Data Overload: Offering personalized care plans and displaying large amounts of data clearly without overwhelming users
Solutions
To overcome these challenges, we started with user flows and wireframes, streamlining tasks various tasks and actions. We focused on clear data presentation and balanced customization to avoid overwhelming users. Accessibility was prioritized, making sure the platform was usable by all, resulting in a clean and effective UI.

With this platform, professionals can easily build and record personalized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans, tailored to each client's unique needs.

Users can track progress and enhance care with data-driven assessments, including a range of standard tools such as VB-MAPP, PEAK, ASRS, EFL, CARS, and more. These assessments provide valuable insights into each client’s development, enabling informed adjustments to treatment plans. The platform simplifies the evaluation and tracking process, ensuring consistent and effective care for individuals with autism.
Schedule & conduct sessions with zero hassle
Users can easily schedule and conduct therapy sessions without any hassle. The platform also lets professionals write session notes, create reports, and set up educational programs. It makes collecting ABC data simple, helping track behavior patterns and adjust care plans. This streamlined process supports more efficient and effective therapy management.
Customer management made easy for admin
We designed a customer management system (CMS) for autism care center admins to easily manage staff, track inquiries, and oversee active clients. They can also control platform access, schedule sessions, and handle various administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations and better workflow management. This platform simplifies the daily responsibilities of managing an autism care center.
