Services we offered
The challenge centered on creating an immersive walkthrough video, integrating animated UI elements of the platform. The objective was to train over 40,000 VMware employees in using the Do-It-Yourself intranet portal. The project faced the added challenge of meeting a strict 16-week deadline, which encompassed the time-intensive animation process. Additionally, seamless collaboration was essential, as it involved teams spread across different time zones.
Challenges
To accelerate our work, we recognized the importance of obtaining feedback from our client. To ensure a smooth video production process, we established a straightforward approach. We implemented clear processes for seeking feedback at various critical stages, including when we initially planned the video, during progress review meetings, scriptwriting, and other pivotal moments. This systematic approach allowed us to maintain a seamless workflow and meet our project deadlines effectively.
Solutions
Our process included the following stages:
-
Scriptwriting: We started by crafting the script to outline the video's content and flow.
-
Storyboarding: Next, we created a visual storyboard to plan the scenes and transitions.
-
UI animation: We designed and incorporated animated UI elements into the video.
-
Video stitching with rough Voiceover: The video clips were assembled, and a preliminary voiceover was added for context.
-
Final voiceover: Lastly, we recorded and integrated the final voiceover to enhance the video's clarity and engagement.
Our team at the Mumbai office demonstrated exceptional dedication. We maintained constant communication with the U.S.-based team, often accommodating early mornings and late nights to bridge the time zone gap. To foster synergy among the product tech and content teams, we adopted a collaborative approach that transcended departmental boundaries, languages, time zones, and cultural differences. This concerted effort allowed us to function seamlessly as a unified team, achieving our goals efficiently and effectively.
Working with global teams
We successfully produced and managed video documentation of the source training platform within a tight schedule. The final deliverables included 26 walkthroughs and training videos with approximately 90 mins of content.
Impact
I just wanted to share a quick note and let you know that you guys know how amazing the videos have come up. It’s really great to see all our internal teams at VMware are happy with the videos that were fashioned for training. We are looking forward to working with your team on our upcoming projects.
